Hello World: Finding the Balance in Grid & Git

a split image of a code editor and figma

For years, the industry has tried to draw a hard line between the "Creative" and the "Technical." On one side, you have the Grid: the world of whitespace, typographic scales, and high-fidelity prototypes. On the other, you have Git: the world of deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and the logic that makes products scale.

Why I’m here, and why the "Design Engineer" title is more than just a buzzword.

I’ve always found that the most exciting work happens right in the middle—where the layout meets the logic.

The Philosophy of The GCraft

This blog, The GCraft: Grid & Git, is my personal laboratory for exploring that intersection. Whether I’m optimizing a WebOps pipeline at work or crafting a responsive UI for a side project like Lume Notes, my goal is the same: to build products that are as robust under the hood as they are beautiful on the surface.

What to Expect

Moving forward, I’ll be sharing my journey as a Web Operations Specialist and Designer. You can expect to see:

  • Project Breakdowns: Deep dives into how I built my latest apps.
  • Web Ops Insights: Tips on maintaining web infrastructure and optimizing performance.
  • Design Systems: My thoughts on typography, Tailwind CSS, and creating modern user interfaces.

One Commit at a Time

Starting a "Build in Public" journey is always a bit intimidating, but if there's one thing Git teaches us, it's that everything starts with an initial commit. This post is mine.

Thanks for joining me. Let’s get to work.
